Copyright and Licensing

Ponte Journal and AISR are committed to the principles of open access publishing. All articles published in the journal are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication.

Authors retain the copyright to their work (or copyright remains with the appropriate copyright holder, where applicable). By publishing in Ponte Journal, authors grant the journal the right to publish, archive, preserve, and disseminate the article as part of the permanent scholarly record.

Articles are published under one of the following Creative Commons licenses, as selected by the journal or agreed with the authors:

  • Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY)
  • Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial License (CC BY-NC)

The applicable license determines how published content may be reused by readers and third parties.

Ponte Journal reserves the right to archive, preserve, index, and format published content to ensure long-term accessibility and optimal presentation across publishing platforms. Any reuse of published material must comply with the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license.

Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY)

The CC BY license permits users to:

  • Read, download, copy, and share the work;
  • Redistribute the article in any medium or format;
  • Remix, transform, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial use.

Users must:

  • Give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and Ponte Journal;
  • Provide a link to the applicable Creative Commons license;
  • Clearly indicate if changes were made.

Attribution must not imply that the authors or the journal endorse the user or the manner in which the work is reused. Any modifications should not misrepresent the original work or harm the reputation of the authors.

The license does not necessarily grant permission for the use of third-party materials that may be included in an article. Users are responsible for obtaining any additional permissions required. Ponte Journal, its editors, and the publisher disclaim responsibility for any errors or omissions in published content.

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial License (CC BY-NC)

The CC BY-NC license provides the same permissions as the CC BY license, except that the work may not be used for commercial purposes.

Under this license, users may:

  • Read, download, copy, and share the work;
  • Redistribute, remix, transform, and adapt the material for non-commercial purposes.

All reuse must include appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and Ponte Journal and indicate whether changes have been made.

Commercial use of articles published under the CC BY-NC license requires prior permission from Ponte Journal or the copyright holder, as applicable.

Open Access Policy

Ponte Journal supports the global dissemination of scholarly research through an open access publishing model. Open access enables unrestricted online access to peer-reviewed research without subscription fees or access barriers, promoting greater visibility, accessibility, and impact of academic work.

All research articles published in Ponte Journal from 2021 are freely available online immediately upon publication. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, and reuse published content in accordance with the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license (CC BY or CC BY-NC).

By removing financial and permission barriers while ensuring proper attribution to authors, Ponte Journal advances the broad dissemination and responsible reuse of scholarly knowledge.
