Abstract: For the past two centuries, African cultures across the continent of Africa and beyond have been under the siege of Westernization. In the past this took the form of colonialism. In the present day it takes the forms of globalization and technology. Some Africans and Westerners view this in a highly positive light, while others are strongly critical A contrasting stance is that African cultures are essentially beyond extinction and destruction, for without indigenous cultures, there can be neither stability nor purpose of significance According to, ‘Self-confidence in the present stems from a sense of personal worth that is rooted in the full acceptance of the past’. Despite the fact that most African cultures lack material possessions and sophisticated technology, they were solidly developed on the principles of order, morality and human decency.

Abstract: The objective of this investigation was to assess the knowledge and awareness of HIV/AIDS of Urban Secondary School Students in South Africa. It is generally perceived that the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in South Africa is unrivaled worldwide. In fact, South Africa has the largest and most high profile HIV epidemic in the world. The sample of the study comprised 105 (57 girls and 48 boys) grades 11 and 12 students studying at a comprehensive secondary school in Durban, South Africa. The respondents were administered an HIV/AIDS questionnaire of 15 statements/questions, to which they were asked to tick the most correct response on the basis of the three options provided, which were “Yes”, “No” “Do not know”. Descriptive statistics in the form of frequency, percentage, chi-square and probability were used for data analyses. Based on the analyses of the data, scores ranged from unsatisfactory to moderate and good. Those who scored below 50% were in the category of unsatisfactory; those who scored 50-60s were moderate and those who scored 70% and above fell under the category good. In this scaling, the assumption was that it takes a score of 70% and above to be considered adequately knowledgeable to use such HIV/AIDS knowledge to guard against contracting the disease. The overall results confirmed what other researchers have observed. In conclusion, it was stressed that: In view of the fact that, HIV/AIDS has no known cure, there is need for comprehensive sexuality education programmes, which will equip urban girls and boys to protect themselves against the scourge of HIV/AIDS. In short, what is being advocated is educating, motivating, persuading and enabling should be the chief cornerstone of HIV/AIDS public education campaigns.

Abstract: Formicidae in some palm groves in Algeria are composed of Myrmicinae (387.9 ± 183.8 individuals/month). Formicinae (242.2 ± 182.6 individuals/month). Ponerinae (0.1 ± 0.3 individuals/month) and Dolichodirinae (75.8 ± 55.7 individuals/month). Within the latter. Tapinoma nigerrimum was the only one represented. where it was strongly recorded by sticky traps (2.2 ± 7.7 individuals/report) with a total of 427 individuals. This species has a wide spatial variation in abundance. with values ranging from 57 (station 3) to 385 individuals (station 5). As for temporal variations. it was very abundant in February (158 individuals) and March (183 individuals). while it was weakly detected in August (11 individuals). The abundance and distribution of this species were probably influenced by several factors including precipitation (r = 0.57; p = 0.041) which was positively correlated with catches. For biometrics. females (6.2 ± 0.2mm) were larger than males (4.53 ± 0.59mm) and female workers (3.22 ± 0.13mm). Indeed. the future queens were characterized by a thorax (2.1 ± 0.1mm) and an abdomen (2.1 ± 0.1mm) of very large size than the other castres.

Abstract: The objective of this study is to evaluate the physicochemical quality of groundwater in the M'Zab valley intended for human consumption and irrigation because of the impact of their quality on public health. The analysis of the physicochemical quality is about samples taken from 16 holes of the deep aquifer and 12 wells of the surface water, distributed along the Oued M'Zab River from upstream to downstream. The results of the carried out analyzes have shown that the waters of the deep aquifer have a better quality than that of the waters of the superficial aquifer. The contents of the physicochemical constituents of the majority of the boreholes match the standards of potability according to WHO especially for pH, NH4+ and NO3-. On the other hand the waters of the superficial aquifer have a quality different from that of the waters of the deep aquifer. The waters of a large number of wells are of poor quality often exceed the thresholds of potability, this concerns more particularly the EC and the NO3-, which constitutes undoubtedly a risk for the inhabitants consuming these waters. Continuous assessment of the quality of these waters and treatment to reduce excessive concentrations of pollutants that may affect human health are strongly recommended. This preserves the quality of the groundwater and protects against all forms of pollution.

Abstract: Our paper investigates foreign banks impact on financial stability in transition countries during the boom-bust cycles, especially their contribution to the evolution and realization of systemic risk. The purpose of this study is to carry out theoretical pros and cons of foreign banks presence in post-soviet countries based on empirical evidence from their activity and risk profiles under different economic conditions and regulatory regimes. A comprehensive retrospective study of global bank capital entries into transition economies, reasons of foreign capital outflows and the dynamics of banks key financial indicators was carried out, as well as a comparative analysis of foreign versus local bank groups due to systemic financial sustainability.\\\\r\\\\nThe results of this study indicatethat foreign banks appeared more solvent during economic crises in transition countriesin comparison with local private banks, despite great financial losses and required capitalization. The differences in default levels and response to the crisis among foreign and local banks were found. Instead of cross-border contagion channel strengthening, foreign banks presence, higher customer loyalty and capital support from parent institutions reduced deposit outflows and smoothed the potential impact of financial instability during the crises. On the contrary, the need of modern early warning monitoring system of foreign banking still exists because of possible rise of concentration and potential non-financial risks related to geopolitical motives and strengthening of compliance requirements.\\\\r\\\\nMain findings of empirical analysis contribute to a deeper understanding of the ownership influence on the systemic risk formation in theCEE and post-soviet banking sectors during the previous booms and crises. Grounded on the empirical data analysis, important patterns in cross-border funding and systemic risk channels were found. It allows to forecast properlyfuture benefits and risks of foreign bank presence in transition countries for regulatory and business purposes.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of healthcare resources on outputs defined as waiting time of patients, the length of stay, the number of patients treated and the cost of the resources for the emergency department (ED). Data were obtained with a discrete-event simulation model for the ED and Box-Behnken experimental design technique was used to analyze the resources of healthcare that affect the outputs of ED. We have emphasized the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare institutions on the quantity and quality of healthcare resources in the present study. Among the findings, by calculating the number of patients treated at maximum level (157 patients) with minimum cost (768.73 units of money), an improvement of 38.94 % of the patient waiting time and 20.87 % of the length of stay has been achieved. We support that the number of healthcare resources has a slight effect on the healthcare systems, while the main thing is that the quality of healthcare resources is more important according to the result of this study.

Abstract: Abstract: The article explores innovations brought by free verse, which is the most recent literary movement in Russia and known as futurism, into Azerbaijani poetry. It is shown that it takes about a hundred years since the arrival of free verse in Azerbaijani poetry. You can come to certain conclusions about the development path of Azerbaijan, the stages and place, the position of free verse in the poetic space for all this time. At the same time, in accordance with these stages, the features of the development of the characteristics of the form, content, and artistic expression of free verse have been modified and updated. The gradual parallel development of free verse with syllable, met with certain protests (innovation of any kind meets with protest!) And attracted the attention of the first models in the Azerbaijani literary environment, and in many cases, turning into the main form of poetry, in fact shows its position and place. In stages, free poetry developed not only from the point of view of idea, content, but also from the point of view of form and structure. Azerbaijani free verse has also changed in terms of semantics, intonation, consonance, rhythm. Each new generation that came to a new verse developed it in style, artistic description, and means of expression.\nKey words: Azerbaijani poetry, free verse, futurism, stage, associative.

Abstract: Cloud Computing is an evolving information technology paradigm that impacts many sectors in many countries. Although Cloud Computing is an emerging technology there is little in the literature concerning its application in developing countries, specifically in Saudi healthcare organizations. This paper aims to investigate the critical factors that will affect the decision to adopt cloud computing technology Saudi healthcare organizations. This study mainly integrates the TOE (Technology-Organization-Environment) framework and TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) to provide a holistic evaluation of the determinants of Cloud Computing adoption in healthcare organizations. Information was collected by employing the mixed method approach, which combines questionnaire and interview were combined and presented to identify the critical factors affect on the perceived the e-health cloud adoption in Saudi healthcare organizations. The obtained results indicate that the five most critical factors are services quality, perceived usefulness, complexity, relative advantage, top management support. Further, among the proposed four dimensions that are examined in this study the most important one is Business perspective was found to be the most important followed by the PEOU (perceived ease of use) then Technology and Organizational Readiness, and finally the Human perspective. For practitioners, this study identifies key factors for hospitals to make an adoption decision toward cloud computing technology. Abstract: This study investigated the effects of using a Geoboard on learners‟ motivation for learning geometry theorems. The study was a qualitative research project, which included twenty (n = 20) participants from two secondary schools in King Cetshwayo District in KwaZulu-Natal Province (selected by means of convenience sampling). Eight (n = 8) of the top learners, four (n = 4) of the middle learners, and eight (n = 8) of the bottom learners were randomly selected from the mark list for the test on geometry theorems to form four focus groups. Each focus group comprised five (n = 5) participants. All twenty (n = 20) participants were taught geometry theorems using a Geoboard for two weeks. The data collected from the four focus groups were analysed using the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction (ARCS) theory of motivation, following an interview schedule. The results revealed that learners became motivated to learn geometry theorems after being taught these theorems using a Geoboard. The study further revealed that only the Attention, Relevance, and Confidence aspects of the ARCS theory increased learners‟ motivation, and not the Satisfaction aspect. Further findings of the study were that participants became more confident and showed interest in learning geometry theorems, especially in writing geometry theorems reasons correctly as corresponding with ARCS theory. It is recommended that external awards such as incentives must be used, along with Geoboards to teach geometry theorems which can subsequently increase extrinsic motivation and learners‟ satisfaction.
