Abstract:
A Rare Cause of Confusion and Syncope: Thrombosis of Dialysis Catheter. Case Presentation and Review of Current Literature SUMMARY Superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome is a complete or partial obstruction of SVC and is occured an emergency situation. While currently 80% of the etiologies are consisted of malignant disorders, in recent years there is an increase in iatrogenic causes such as pacemaker wires and long term central venous catheters. Here we presented a case of SVC syndrome caused by right subclavian vein catheter for two years for dialysis treatment due to chronic renal insufficiency and review of the literature.
