Abstract:
One of the main features of the Salasaca indigenous community is that they try to keep their cultural practices, which are the product of their peoples worldview. Under this premise and focusing itself on the objectives of the Sumak Kawsay, the community tourism in the area has been promoted. This activity is a potential economic axis and at the same time it is a strategy to improve life quality on the community. The objective of this research is to create a touristic route model of intangible cultural heritage for the development of community tourism, which is adapted to the attractive places and the community necessities. The applied methodology was an ethnographic study and a participative tourism mapping which was done by contacting the local community in Salasaca. They cooperate directly with information related to ancestral knowledge and experiences that was got through participatory diagnostic techniques such as surveys, interviews and focused groups to specify the attractions to be drawn on the route and thus finally conclude that each community determines their attractions and their model of tourism development according to their worldview and daily life.
