Abstract:
This paper describes the evolution of environmental thinking, demonstrating the laws, regulations and the specific norms and addressing issues directly related to the benefits that organizations could get. Further, it presents the relationship between sustainable development and competition between firms nowadays. It also explores possibilities of resource utilization without harming the environment as an alternative to new markets. It shows the economic and strategic benefits that companies can achieve when implementing sustainability throughout the production processes. To conclude, the development of the environmental social responsibility also assures the preservation of the environment and establishes competitive advantages sought by stakeholders.
