Abstract:
Fluent communication in English in a foreign language is what students aspire to in a globalized world. However, the development of oral skills (speaking) has been considered difficult to develop in students, this research was conducted in order to determine the effect of instruction focused on the student in the development of spoken skills, the same was carried out with 54 B1+ students of the regular modality in the Languages Center of Universidad Tcnica de Ambato, the students participated in an experimental study that consisted of a previous test and a subsequent test; 26 students participated in the experimental group and 28 in the control group. The results obtained in this research showed that with a methodology that focuses on them as well as in the learning process, each of the lessons changed significantly. In addition, interaction and communication were two obvious criteria when students communicated with their classmates. This study resulted in the creation of a brochure of ten interactive and communicative strategies designed to make students the main protagonists in each lesson, they are also oriented to promote new knowledge, develop skills and have the predisposition to succeed in the educational life.
