It is shown that the estimate of strength of foundations, structural elements of buildings and structures on the basis of experimental and theoretical studies allows to achieve rational use of materials, improvement of methods of calculation. The results of the analysis of the numerical experiment of gratings with changing pitch of the piles in the longitudinal direction. The results of the numerical experiment, backed by physical tests, will allow to assess the strength of the grillage to use alternative methods based on frame � and-rod model.
