AFRICAN CULTURES: AN ENCOUNTER WITH WESTERN CIVILISATION Author(s): Tuntufye S Mwamwenda J. Ponte - Jun 2019 - Volume 75 - Issue 6 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2019.6.19 Abstract: For the past two centuries, African cultures across the continent of Africa and beyond have been under the siege of Westernization. In the past this took the form of colonialism. In the present day it takes the forms of globalization and technology.
