OPINIONS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS REGARDING THE USE OF EDMODO AS A SOCIAL NETWORK IN ICT COURSE

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of Edmodo-supported students about Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) courses on Edmodo. 310 students from the 9th grade who took the ICT course to study participated. 53% of the students are girls and 47% are male students. A total of 5 groups was created for each class via Edmodo. Edmodo was used to support lectures and student-student, teacher-student communication, information sharing was provided. While the data were collected, semi-structured interview questions were administered to get students' views on Edmodo use. A total of 50 students were interviewed in order to determine their views on the use of Edmodo, with 10 students from each class. The obtained data were evaluated and interpreted by means of content analysis. According to the results obtained, the answers given by students to Edmodo use were divided into categories and the themes were formed.
