Abstract:
Islamic banks are actively seeking ways to improve their information system due to the advancement of technology and the rising importance of maintaining Knowledge Management System (KMS) capabilities. The main purpose of this study is to assess KMS within Islamic banking institutions in Malaysia. This study proposes an approach to evaluate KMS using seven attributes; namely system quality, process quality, knowledge quality, system performance, system acceptance, banker’s technical capabilities and perceived individual benefits. A survey instrument has been developed and administered on the users of KMS which were represented by two hundred Islamic bankers from twenty Malaysian Islamic banks. The statistical results using structural equation modeling intensely support the significant effect of each variable in ensuring the success of KMS. Findings of this research help Islamic banks to achieve their objective of becoming knowledge-based banking institutions from the utilization of KMS capabilities.
