Ponte - Dec 2018 - Volume 74 - Issue 12 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2018.12.17 Abstract: Our paper focuses on to the problem of the increasing teenage suicides in the Russian Federation and worldwide. Our aim is to find a range of effective and economic diagnostic tools allowing us to reveal the key social risks of suicide intentions of deviant teenagers in criteria of existential and humanistic psychology.
We propose a model validation of the new diagnostic tools executed through a field survey helping us to establish the identity of the teenager and its connection with society (e.g. relations with a reference group, family, educators, as well as emotional, behavioral reactions to social situations and social milieu). Our findings showed that such psychological disturbances as health issues, interpersonal, behavioral responses, and family relationships might be considered as predictors of suicidal behavior for teenagers.
