Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the difference among depression, subjective oral health awareness, and oral health attitude following the disease classification in industrial injured patients. A total sample of 424 industrial injury patients completed self-reported questionnaire and all collected dada were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0 for descriptive statistics, chi-square test, fishers exact test, ANOVA, post-hoc Scheffe test, and Pearsons correlation coefficient. The result showed that the classification of disease was significantly affected by depression, subjective oral health awareness, and their oral management behavior. The depression in cardiovascular patients was higher than other disease patients and subjective oral health awareness was significantly higher in burning and nervous system disease patients. There was a positive correlation among depression, subjective oral health awareness, and oral management behavior. These results indicated that psychological rehabilitation service and oral care management would be considered in the industrial injured patients depending on the associated disease. According to the findings, it is necessary to implement policies for managing oral health depending on the disease classification in industrial injured patients during their medical treatment rehabilitation period.
