TRAINING MANAGEMENT MODEL FOR CREATIVE MUSICS TO ENHANCE ART LEARNING COMPETENCE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Abstract:
Abstrack In Indonesia, creative music training for elementary school teacher has not been conducted so far. Therefore, there is no model or manual for creative music training which include appreciation, creativity and expression. The general objective of this research was to develop training model for creative music arts (appreciation, creation and expression) which can enhance learning competencies of Elementary School art teachers. The research objectives of this development were to analyze the training management model for creative musics that has been conducted on elementary school teachers; to design a valid conceptual training management model for creative musics for elementary school teachers; and to test the effectiveness of training model for creative musics of elementary school teachers in developing their creative music art competencies. This study was conducted in procedural model adapted from educational research and development and procedural model. Further the procedural model was modified into three steps of research and development, i.e. the preliminary study stage as step of needs and content analysis; the development stage as the step of design, development, and evaluation; testing the effectiveness of the product as step of semi-summative evaluation. Results showed that the most urgent components needed in art training for creative musics (creative musics and the appreciation as well as creation) were the goal of the training program, the relevance of training materials and media used by the instructors, thus getting the appropriate training for primary school teachers. It still needs improvement in the training quality specifically in the form of training related to its procedures and implementation, the clarity targets of the training program to be achieved, and the media used in training which is easy for elementary school teachers to receive the information.
