ERROR ANALYSES OF ENGLISH COMPOSITION AT INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Abstract:
The present study attempts to find the common and most frequently occurring errors in composition of Pakistani English language learners at intermediate level. It was executed through mixed method and data for its execution has been obtained from 50 students applying essay writing as an instrument. The students were from an underdeveloped town of central Punjab, Pakistan. All of the errors, made by the students, were identified. \r\nThe results show that the students have committed 13 kinds of errors, out of which the errors of spelling were maximum in frequency. In the light of these results, the study suggests improvements in curriculum and pedagogical strategies, which can go a long way to assist ESL/EFL teachers in improving teaching strategies for teaching English essay writing to ESL/EFL
