Ponte - May 2017 - Volume 73 - Issue 5 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2017.5.44 Abstract: The authors consider the actual problem of the development of scientific organizations explaining it from the position of significance in the national economy of Russia. The theoretical generalization of approaches to the definition of the concepts of development management and change management is presented and definitions with reference to the specifics of the activity of scientific organizations are given. The systematization of the classification approaches of development models of economic entities has been carried out and the research results of development models of scientific organizations are presented. Based on the official statistics of 860 scientific organizations the authors identified those of them that has stable development trends according to one of the models. The data reveal the priority of external development of scientific organizations mainly aimed at image positioning of both the structure as a whole and individual scientists.
