Ponte - Jul 2017 - Volume 73 - Issue 7 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2017.7.17 Abstract: The aim of this study was to define the 8th grade teacher and student inclination for reflective thinking and teacher views about the level of curricula to guide students towards reflective thinking. This qualitative study involved 862 students and 34 Turkish Language teachers. The findings indicated a high rate of both the teacher and student inclination for reflective thinking. Moreover, the teachers agreed that the curricula helped develop students� reflective thiking skills. It was also stated that reading had a significant impact on the students�inclination for reflective thinking and the students who read had a higher inclination for reflective thinking comapre to the ones who do not read.\r\nKeywords: Reflective thinking, high level thinking skills, problem solving, teacher, student
