Abstract:
The purpose of this research study is to investigate what educators believe radical transformative leadership is all about in the context of South African Higher Education. Transformational leadership is a process in which the leaders take actions to try increase the awareness of what is right and important. This study used a methodology based upon the approach of Tesch. The lecturers emphasised the development of the student’s behaviours and attitude towards personal development and their ability as lecturers to bring a positive change in the educational sector. The findings also revealed on the development of activities that were taken as just ordinary or extra mural activities. However, those activities in today’s world are enhanced to meet the demand of the current way of life. The study recommends that both the leaders and the followers in the process of a transformational leadership in the context of South African Higher Education must work hand in hand to promote transformation within the context of South Africa Higher Education.
