THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BEHAVIOR CHANGE PROGRAM THROUGH DIFFERENTIAL REINFORCEMENT IN REDUCTION OF PROBLEM BEHAVIOR

Abstract:
Problem behaviors are frequently seen in students with developmental delays. One of the effective methods to reduce problem behaviors is to apply a behavior modification program. In this study, the applications of behavior modification program by means of differentiated reinforcement are investigated in terms of the changes and changes that are made by applying to a student with behavioral problems. A student with a developmental retardation and special education teacher participated in the study. The work was carried out at the Nicosia Special Education and Employment Training Center of TRNC. The single-study research models (EU model) was used in this study. Data on participant behavior was collected for the effectiveness of the study. When study findings are examined, it can be said that the behavior change program applied to reduce problem behaviors is effective. Moreover, it was observed that the target behaviors of the students decreased and the target behaviors were attained as a result of the behavior change program.\r\nKey words: Problem behavior, behavior change, student with developmental retardation
