Abstract:
For an enterprise, respectively for its management, risk is the unknown which brings uncertainty into a business, be it operational or financial. The management in an enterprise traditionally deals with assessing and organizing daily work, and is only partly focused on the risk as a threat to a company to suffer losses or lose potential benefits. Each activity undertaken by individuals, enterprises, and institutions is subject to the possibility of failure due to the risks to which they are exposed to. It is, however, the task of the management to do everything within their power to identify different types of risks and assess them based on scientific methodologies. One method of managing the risk is to put it under insurance. This provides a perspective for the future to the work of individuals and institutions. This article explains the phenomenon of risk in enterprises based on the data collected from reference texts and from the survey conducted in Kosovo enterprises. The aim of the article is to highlight the need for professionalism and standards in the management of the enterprises in Kosovo. In addition, we consider this as an important factor which provides for the development and sustainability of an enterprise. In conclusion, we brought up the necessity of risk management, defined the goal, and listed the risks and methods of risk management, which was based on the data extracted from the research.\r\n\r\nKeywords: enterprise, risk, management, insurance, insecurity.
