Ponte - Dec 2017 - Volume 73 - Issue 12 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2017.12.26 Abstract: The article considers problems of search of effective methods to reduce the negative environmental impact of industrial enterprises. Introduction of international standardized environmental management systems provide a real opportunity to companies to monitor and regulate the most significant environmental aspects of its activities and the stage of the production process, and to set required criteria of the effectiveness of environmental management. The article shows that the implementation and certification of an effective environmental management system depend on the capabilities and availability of financial, technical and human resources in the organization. Finding ways of formalizing performance indicators environmental management system is an urgent task. The authors propose a mathematical model to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation and development of the environmental management system. The possibility of using, this model during the procedure of environmental auditing.
