Ponte - Nov 2016 - Volume 72 - Issue 11 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2016.11.23 Abstract: School libraries in Azerbaijan: the problem of the investigation of school libraries’ history and their role on the improvement of teaching and education. With the purpose of increasing the level of education of the population in Azerbaijan, on the base of Muslim schools were formed 2-3 class uyezd schools and libraries at these schools. The importance of the uyezd school libraries was that the library served not only the students, but also for the village and urban communities. These libraries played a very important role in the education of the students, teachers and as a whole broad masses.
