THE IMPORTANCE OF COORDINATION GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING SERVICES TO INCREASE ACCOUNTABILITY�S GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract:
The students� interest of Vocational High School (VHS) in Banjarmasin in using guidance and counselling services can is still weak. In order to create accountability of guidance and counsellingservices, not only to the implementation of service delivery, but also the more important thing is to coordinate with stakeholders on guidance and counselling services, especially when conducting data collection of student needs assessment and in guidance and counselling programs planning. The research method used is qualitative naturalistic method at Vocational High School (SMK) in Banjarmasin with the main participants as data source areguidance and counselling teachers. Supporty participants are students, principals, vice principals, subject teachers, and parents of students. Data mining techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. The results of research on guidance and counsellingcoordination in Vocational High School (SMK) in Banjarmasin are: 1. Guidance and Counsellinghas analysed the need of services assesment for students through several techniques of data mining (Checklist of Problems, Questionnaires, Psychoses), 2. Planning is need for the guidance and counselling program: annual, semi-annual, monthly and service delivery plan, 3. Only conducted the limited coordination of guidance and counselling program, only partially to the principal, while the coordination with subject teachers, parents and school supervisor is not maximally done. The conclusion of this research is guidance and counsellingteacher�s coordination in creating accountability to stakeholders is only limited to the principal while the subject teachers, parents and school supervisors have not been maximized.
