SEXUAL QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG WOMEN UNDERWENT \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nBREAST SURGERY ALL HEADINGS

Abstract:
Women with breast cancer may experience problems with physical, psychological, body image, self-esteem and sexuality, family and social life, professional and economic conditions. Aim of this study was to determine the quality of sexual life of women who underwent surgery for breast cancer. This descriptive study was carried out on among 208 married women. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The questionnaire was prepared by researcher utilizing the related literature and Sexual Quality of Life Scale-female form The most of the participants (85.6%) before the disease, and (88.0%) pre-treatment had no problem in sexual life however only 31.7% of them after treatment had no problems in sexual life. In the mean sexual quality of life score of the women who suffered from breast cancer was 64.04 ± 19.62. The sexual quality of life scale scores of women had sexual problem before her disease, pre and post treatment, were lower than other group. , This difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). It was found that the sexual life in and the quality of sexual life of women was affected negatively after treatment for breast cancer. The patients and their husbands should get support from health care professionals to overcome this issue. The healthcare professionals also must aware this problem of this group and provide appropriate care and support each patients based on their specific problems related to sexual life.
