IMPROVEMENT OF NEUROCOGNITIVE FUNCTIONS AND BEHAVIORAL EFFECTS OF RATS AFTER TREATMENT WITH SALVIA AND GINKGO BILOBA EXTRACTS Author(s): Lomteva Natalya ,Kondratenko Elena, Kasimova Saule, Yakovenkova Ludmila, Kopulova Mariya J. Ponte - Nov 2017 - Volume 73 - Issue 11 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2017.11.7 Abstract: In the article we research general motor activity, exploratory behavior, anxiety and memory in adult rats after treatment with extracts of Ginkgo Biloba and salvia. These parameters were assessed through the use of behavioral assays, namely, the Suok test and passive avoidance learning. The aqueous extract of salvia and a solution of Ginkgo-Biloba contributed to the activation of patterns of exploratory behavior and a decrease of anxiety in animals in the Suok-test, and these changes were comparable to those of the solution of the divaza. The Ginkgo-Biloba solution to animals stimulates cognitive functions in rats, which is reflected in an improvement in the elaboration of the conditioned reflex and the preservation of the memorable trace after training in the passive avoidance learning.
