Abstract:
Our study focused on the isolation and identification of some bacterial strains displaying an ability to biodegrade chlorpyrifos ethyl from agricultural soils in the region of Ouargla (Ain Moussa). Soil samples contaminated with the tested pesticide have a pH of 8.58, electrical conductivity indicating slightly saline soil and very low organic matter content. These characteristics certainly favored the development of bacterial microflora. Microbial analysis of this samples revealed the presence of nine isolated and identified strains belonging to the genera Escherichia, Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Moraxella and / or Bordetella. These bacterial genera show a variability of their growth kinetics inducing a significant development in the presence of ethyl chlorpyrifos compared to the control. It is in this context that these bacteria can be used in a possible application in bio-remediation
