The article outlines the main areas of interaction between a pedagogical university and a school for the development of the research competence of schoolchildren, analyzes the experience of the Mordovian State Pedagogical Institute named after M. E. Evseviev in implementing the innovative model "School - Small School Academy - Research and Education Center "Academy of Success"- University. The purpose of the study is to substantiate and substantively characterize the model of organizational and pedagogical support for the development of research competence of pupils.
