Abstract:
Guerrara oasis planted on a shallow groundwater in the alluvium of the Zegrir Wadi. The groundwater quality has in recent years undergone some deterioration because of the use of deep groundwater, chemical fertilizers in agriculture, and the untreated urban waste, which has influenced the oasis agro system. The aim of this study is to investigate the irrigation water quality. In this ncontext, 30 wells were selected inside the old palm grove of Guerrara for sampling to be subsequently analyzed in the laboratory using standard procedure. The physical-chemical analysis of water showed many differences in pH, temperature and electrical conductivity. These parameters are highly correlated with total mineralization of water. Water has chlorinated facies and calcium sulfate and magnesium. The piezometric survey showed that the groundwater had the same look of piezometric map in the two companions, and the flow direction is south west / north west.
