Abstract:
In Todays era of digital India where the country is heading towards e-business and e-transactions there is a dire need of securing the transactions and data to garner the trust of the consumer. With security we cannot overlook the computational cost which will add to the overhead of the transactions. Security stands eminent in the new age of Digitization and to add to the trust of the consumer the Security methods need to adhere to Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. Non-Repudiation is also a matter of concern in the domain of security wherein it is necessary for the sender to be accountable for the communication. The advent of Encryption of data and digital signatures has brought a massive revolution in the field of Security but there are challenges like; increased computational cost which have lead to new fields of enhancements.Signcryption is one such process which has evolved over time to meet the requirements of a more efficient method of Security. Many methods have been discussed with RSA based Signcryption and later with elliptic curve based Signcryption with elliptic curve based Signcryption having a better hold over application areas due to its perks of low computational time and costs. This paper focuses on the Signcryption methods based on elliptic curves and the manner in which elliptic curve signcryption methods have evolved to meet the dynamic requirements of security.
