Abstract:
Data mining is an area of computer and information science with large perspective of knowledge discovery from dataset. Sentiment analysis, one of the most trending areas over recent years, is to uncover the feelings of people regarding a particular topic also known as opinion mining, it determines the opinion of speaker. With the development of e-commerce, the opinions of other customers play a vital role in deciding to buy a particular product. This can be achieved by examining ratings and reviews of which ratings hold a stronger impact. This paper provides an overview analysis of different approaches to determine the polarity of reviews through ratings. Also, the role of overall ratings provided by the user in predicting the individual ratings of different features of a product is reviewed.
