Ponte - Jul 2016 - Volume 72 - Issue 7 doi: 10.21506/j.ponte.2016.7.3 Abstract: During the past 20 years, taxonomies have been defined to classify visualization paradigms. However, none of these taxonomies have been based on what the visualization wants to emphasize. This article proposes a classification based on data relationships and appropriate visualization paradigms to emphasize specific types of goals.
