This article examines Türkiye as a leading destination for medical tourism and analyzes the main reasons why patients from the Kyrgyz Republic choose this country for treatment. Türkiye is widely recognized as one of the world’s prominent centers for medical tourism, offering advanced healthcare services in fields such as oncology, cardiology, dentistry, and plastic surgery. The study aims to identify and evaluate the key factors influencing the choice of Türkiye as a medical tourism destination, based on empirical data collected from Kyrgyz medical tourists who have received treatment in Turkish clinics. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines survey data with expert interviews to provide both statistical evidence and in-depth professional insights. The findings indicate that the primary reasons for choosing Türkiye include the high quality of medical services, the availability of modern medical technologies, and the professionalism of healthcare providers. In addition, linguistic and cultural proximity, geographic accessibility, and relatively affordable costs compared to other countries play a significant role in decision-making. Recommendations from friends and relatives also strongly influence patient preferences. The study further reveals that patients from Kyrgyzstan most frequently seek treatment in areas such as oncology, cardiology, and organ transplantation. Overall, the results confirm that Türkiye is a highly preferred destination for medical tourism among Kyrgyz citizens and highlight the strong potential for further development of medical tourism relations between the two countries.
