Abstract:
Protected green areas have been among the most preferred places in recent years. For this reason, the opinions and preferences of the visitors regarding the protected areas were considered important. This study aims to determine the satisfaction levels of visitors to one of the protected green areas, Turgut Özal Nature Park in Malatya and the thoughts of visitors to the nature park. In addition, the relationship between the levels of satisfaction with the visitors at the nature park and the decision to recommend the nature park and the amount of time they spend at the nature park were analyzed, as well as the relationship between the number of visitors coming to the nature park and free entrance to the nature park. To achieve this, Data obtained from surveys with 417 visitors to the nature park were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Spearman Rho Correlation Coefficient and Chi-square. While there was a correlation between the satisfaction levels of the visitors to the Turgut Özal Nature Park and the quality of recommending the nature park to others, there was no relationship between the level of satisfaction, the amount of time spent at the nature park, and the number of visitors to the nature park being free of charge. Additionally, we presented recommendations to the park management in consideration of the visitors' tendencies to the nature park, demands and opinions regarding the use of the nature park.
